Cozy Up for a Storm & an Update

31 Oct

Phew what a busy semester it has been! From interning to everything with school, I’ve been running here there and everywhere! But here are some fun snap shots of my week, and a bit of an update on the blog!

Today I decided to grab a chai tea latte and two strawberry macaroons from this adorable coffee shop downtown. I love the decor and the friendly baristas!

Last week I decided to cut my hair to be more professional, and while it wasn’t a huge cut, I’ve been having a hard time coming up with fun ways to style my new ‘do. I’m thinking of investing in a pair of hot rollers for  a bit of 60′s glam!

Yesterday classes were cancelled due to somewhat heavy weather here in Boston. While we missed the worst of it, my thoughts go out to everyone who is currently without power or dealing with this storm.

On a lighter note, I’ve been enjoying my new record player! This semester I’m taking a fun music journalism class, and listening to the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Stones, made my decision to finally buy one! After visiting the SOWA market, I stacked my new player on top of two vintage suitcases.

I use my repurposed suitcase (you can find the tutorial here) to hold all of my records.

I’ve also been working with a web designer on reworking out this blog! I am so excited to be making some fun changes to this site! :)

What has your week been like?

Today I Wore: Fall Edition

8 Oct

Today I took a break from the city and took a trip to Salem, MA! Salem is amazing this time of year, from the museums, decorations to the fun people dressed in costumes!

This time of year, there are so many great local artists and vendors on the streets! I just loved these hand painted masks!

After walking around, and shopping we decided to stop at the Witch Dungeon Museum!

Their gift shop had so many fun trinkets! I especially loved the Witch Balls! They were so pretty and unique!

As for an outfit today was sort of chilly so I went with a pair of maroon tights, a 1960′s school dress, added a thrifted wool sweater. As for accessories I paired a vintage coach bag, a gold locket and of course, a maroon bow!

Do you have any fall traditions!? Have you started planning or decorating for Halloween? Let me know in a comment below!
